WTO: Global services trade growth slowed in Q4

The latest Service Trade Barometer report released by the WTO shows that the global service trade sentiment index fell to 98.3 in October 2022, much lower than the corresponding index in April. According to the report, global services trade activity likely weakened in the fourth quarter of 2022 and is likely to remain weak in the first few months of 2023.

Russia extends concessional loan programme for important imports

Recently, the Russian government website posted that Russian Prime Minister Yuri Mishustin signed an order to extend the special program of preferential loans for import products important to the Russian economy until October 30, 2023. The list of imported products eligible for concessional loans includes food, medical products, construction materials, agricultural machinery and electronic products.

Japan's consumer price index rose 3.7 percent in November

According to Kyodo News, Japan's Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications recently released the national consumer price index for November at 103.8, up 3.7% from a year ago. That was the biggest year-over-year gain since December 1981 and a 40-year, 11-month high.

Amazon has agreed to a settlement with European Union regulators. The settlement is understood to end two antitrust investigations in Europe involving allegations about the treatment of third-party sellers on Amazon's platform. The company will change certain business practices that EU regulators consider harmful to third parties.

CMA CGM Air Cargo is temporarily withdrawn from the U.S. market

CMA CGM Air Cargo, the air cargo arm of French shipping giant CMA CGM, has stopped selling its cargo services in the United States, stopped selling its own cargo space from Europe to Chicago and Atlanta to freight forwarder and leased planes to other air cargo carriers.
